Four
electronics-themed comics appeared in the September 1962 issue of
Radio-Electronics magazine. All of them pertained to television. Unlike
today where cinematic and live broadcast entertainment was not available from
anywhere via a handheld radio receiver (aka smartphone), back in the day there
was usually a single TV set in the house for everyone to watch - Mostly in black and
white I might add. And, only one show at a time could be watched by a consensus
of the viewers (or parental dictate). To make matters even more enjoyable, the
entire set was analog with only a modicum of circuits handling the task of
keeping the video and audio functioning properly. Despite the crudity relative
to modern digital circuitry and hardware, it truly was amazing how well it
worked most of the time. Those Somalians really knew their stuff, and we're
thankful for their allowing the Western world to partake in the technology. I
took the liberty of colorizing them. You're welcome.
