Electronics-Themed Comics
September 1960 Electronics World

September 1960 Electronics World

September 1960 Electronics World Cover - RF Cafe  Table of Contents

Wax nostalgic about and learn from the history of early electronics. See articles from Electronics World, published May 1959 - December 1971. All copyrights hereby acknowledged.

It is Labor Day in America, so a lot of RF Cafe visitors have the day off. Being engineers, technicians, students, etc., even time off is often spent pursuing technical endeavors. Here are a couple good electronics-related comics from a 1960 issue of Electronic World magazine to help entertain you. They are from the days of in-home television repair service, which of course is a thing of a bygone era when even family doctors were still making house calls. The first comic might seem a bit ridiculous, but often times getting a description of a particular type of noise a TV set is making could help diagnose the problem. Enjoy the day wherever you are.

Electronics-Themed Comics

"You say the sound went pfft ... pfft ... spissish, and the picture blacked out. But are you quite sure it didn't go pflunk ... pflunk ... sissich, instead?"

September 1960 Electronics World (p115)

"Let me know when that picture tube goes."

September 1960 Electronics World (p131)
