Applied Microwave & Wireless - RF Cafe

Note: Unfortunately, since this piece was posted the entire collection of Applied Microwave & Wireless PDF files have been removed from Archive.org.

Those of us whose were around in the RF industry in the 1990s and remember a very fine magazine entitled "Applied Microwave & Wireless." It was published by Noble Publishing Group. The Archive.org (aka the Wayback Machine, a la from Sherman and Mr. Peabody cartoon) website has an archive of 410 published articles (as of this writing) on a variety of topics including antennas, oscillators, filter design and tuning, direct conversion receivers, microstrip and stripline, RF link calculations, shielding, co-channel interference, power amplifiers, lightning protection, SAW devices, GPS, dielectric measurement, circuit and system computer simulation, transistor biasing, RF transformers, impedance matching, circuit and system testing, couplers, satellite communications, and much more. Other sources for articles are available, but most require a paid subscription.

Applied Microwave & Wireless Magazine Article Archive - RF CafeThanks again to Mr. Bob Davis, who has been a valuable source of good information over RF Cafe's two decades of existence.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
