A Serious Incident

On December 11, 2001, I posted this message on the home page of RF Cafe and asked for the opinion of visitors. The unanimous response -- both on the FORUM page and in e-mail -- was that I should contact the FBI to report the individual, and to make sure the company he claimed to speak for is aware of his actions. I've made two attempts already to contact the company via e-mail, and will next write a letter to the president of that company. I'll let you know what happens. Per the suggestions, I have taken additional action to report the individual to the proper authorities. Thanks for all the participation.

"Recently, I contacted a very prominent manufacturer of RF components, located in the NY City area, regarding information to use as an RF Cafe "Factoid." A representative of the company called me and expressed hostility over my unfavorable mention of Osama Bin Laden on the site, and requested that all links to that company be removed from RF Cafe. After a short conversation I asked him, "Are you a supporter of bin Laden?," to which he replied, "I might be." I have removed links to the company and sent multiple e-mails to them asking for an alternate contact, with no response whatsoever.

What do you make of this, and should I consider reporting this individual to the FBI? Am I overreacting, even considering the 9/11 attack? Should the company's name be made public? Please post your thoughts on the FORUM page, and avoid guessing a company name. Thanks."

Update: Since originally posting this page, I did fill out a report and sent it to the FBI.
