cascade phase noise analysis - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Hello, new to board - looking for anyone who might know of a tool, other than excel, that allows for cascade phase noise analysis, in an ADS type format (circuit block diagram) - basically drop an oscilltor in, specify its output power and absolute phase noise, the conect an amplifier and specify its residual contribution and gain, compression etc- calculate the output phase noise, power. Looking for a tool with Mixers, amplifiers, passives and configurable blocks (DDS's for example).

I am ready to write my own but would love to avoid tthe cost of that.

Thanks -

Dino
