Good day people.
I'm currently doing an undergraduate
project on EMC. I'm supposed to build a simple TEM
Cell for the measurement of radiated emission from
IC. Anyone knows where to find a TEM Cell manual
or specification or something that may help? I try
the web but couldnt find any. Hope anyone can help
me out.
Great thanks!
Cheers, teokun

Teokun,
It is quite simple.
1. The
TEM cell is a coaxial cable. The physical relationship
for a 50 Ohm coax cable (in air) should be maintained
all throughout the expansion (RF input) sector,
the continous sector and the terminating sector
(The one where there is supposed to be a dummy load).
2. The maximum operating frequency is proportional
to one quarter wavelength between the center conductor
and the metal cabinet.
3. The field strength
is (for practical terms) U = SQRT (P * R) [R=50]
If used for Radiated Immunity tests.
(Provided
that the device under test is smaller than the width
of the flat center conductor and that it is placed
1/2 distance between the ground and the center conductor.
Using white plastic foam is recommended for
DUT support.
