FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Peregrine Semiconductor Appoints Ian Warbrick to Executive Supply Chain
Role
VP to deliver world-class production planning, global
customer service excellence
San Diego, California, May 22, 2008 -- Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation, a supplier of the
industry’s most advanced RF-CMOS and mixed-signal communications ICs, today announced the appointment of Ian
Warbrick to its senior management team as vice-president, supply chain and customer service. In his most recent
role as vice-president & general manager of International Rectifier’s Power Semiconductor Business Unit, Mr.
Warbrick was responsible for re-engineering the global IR supply chain systems which today span numerous wafer
fabrication, assembly and test facilities manufacturing an exceptionally high unit volume. Mr. Warbrick also led
the breakout of that business unit in a successful transition to new ownership. Warbrick will take on the newly
created Peregrine role with a charter to develop world-class production planning, communications and delivery
systems for Peregrine, which has manufactured a cumulative 250 million UltraCMOS™ RFICs and nearly doubled in
revenue every year for the past five years. “Peregrine has reached a pivotal stage in
its evolution and is preparing itself for the next decade,” stated Craig Ensley, Peregrine’s president and chief
operating officer. “Exceptional product quality and customer satisfaction are now our primary objectives, and the
addition of this key leadership position supports those priorities. Ian has delivered brilliant supply chain
results worldwide throughout his career, and we look forward to his contributions at Peregrine,” he added.
“I am thrilled to join Peregrine and lead the initiative to build a robust,
efficient supply chain and an exceptional support capability that provides our customers with a competitive
advantage,” said Warbrick. “The enthusiasm for continuous improvement and growth at all levels of the company
provides an ideal environment for success,” he concluded.
“We are committed to servicing our customers, our partners and our stakeholders with
streamlined business systems, predictable quality and strong financial results,” stated Jim Cable, CEO of
Peregrine. “We expect Peregrine will benefit fully from Ian’s experience, and with the ongoing commitment of the
entire Peregrine team we endeavor to become the paradigm of excellence in the RF industry,” he added.
Previously, Mr. Warbrick was appointed CEO of IR-SA, a joint venture with Sanyo
Semiconductor. In 1998, Mr. Warbrick took on the IR role of vice president, Supply Chain & Business Development,
where he led certain acquisitions and was responsible for global planning, material procurement, finished goods
supply chain and logistics for the company’s interdependent manufacturing sites. In other International
Rectifier positions spanning 10 years, Mr. Warbrick managed multiple wafer foundries and several back-end
semiconductor assembly/test facilities including those manufacturing space-qualified rad-hard devices, and held
a variety of financial management positions responsible for expansion and MRP.
Prior to International Rectifier, Ian Warbrick held various financial positions for
UNISYS Corporation including Financial Controller for two manufacturing operations in the UK. Mr. Warbrick holds
a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business from Southampton University in the United Kingdom. His
formal training includes Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, FMEA and Six Sigma Quality.
About UltraCMOS™ Technology
UltraCMOS™ mixed-signal process technology is a patented variation of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology
on a sapphire substrate providing with high yields and competitive costs. This technology delivers significant
performance advantages over competing processes such as GaAs, SiGe BiCMOS and bulk silicon CMOS in applications
where RF performance, low power and high levels of integration are paramount. About Peregrine Semiconductor
Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation designs, manufactures, and markets high-performance communications ICs
for the wireless infrastructure and mobile wireless; broadband communications; space, defense and avionics
markets. Manufactured on the Company’s proprietary UltraCMOS™ silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) process technology,
Peregrine products are uniquely poised to meet the needs of the global RF design community in high-growth
applications such as WCDMA and GSM digital cellular, broadband, DTV, DVR and rad-hard space and defense programs.
Peregrine, headquartered in San Diego, California, maintains global manufacturing and technical sales support
worldwide. Additional information is available on the web at psemi.com.
