Mentor Graphics Press Release 12-5-2008

Nominations Sought for the 3rd annual ISQED Quality Award

Prestigious IQ-Award is sponsored by Mentor Graphics

SAN JOSE, CA –December 3, 2008The International Society for Quality Electronic Design announced today that it is accepting nominations for the 3rd annual ISQED Quality Award, dubbed as IQ-Award. The IQ-Award was established in 2007 to recognize individuals who have made significant and often lasting contributions to the field of quality in electronic design. The award recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified candidates from various disciplines encompassing the field of electronic design such as: circuit and system design, design automation, semiconductor technology, IC packaging, test, as well as management/leadership fostering the spirit of quality by instilling and promoting quality in electronic design.
Recipients of the IQ-Award will be announced and honored during the ISQED09 luncheon ceremony on March 17, 2009. The IQ-Award 2009 is sponsored by Mentor Graphics. The nomination form is on the home page of ISQED at www.isqed.org.

Mentor Graphics is proud to be associated with the ISQED Quality Award as we recognize individuals who provide significant contributions for quality standards in the electronics design industry,” stated Simon Bloch, vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics design and synthesis division, who will keynote and present the IQ-Award at ISQED 2009.  “Having an industry-wide focus on high-quality standards is vital to enabling broad adoption and proliferation of both existing and new electronic design technologies and methodologies.”

ISQED will be held from March 16 to March 18 of 2009, in DoubleTree Hotel, San Jose, California. The conference features full day tutorials, embedded tutorials, panel discussions, six keynote speeches, exhibits, and over 150 technical presentations. ISQED’s corporate sponsors are Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, Magma Design Automation and the Silicon Valley Technical Institute.

About ISQED
The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED) is a premier Design & Design Automation conference, aimed at bridging the gap between and integration of, electronic design tools and processes, integrated circuit technologies, processes and manufacturing, to achieve design quality. ISQED is the pioneer and leading conference dealing with design for manufacturability and quality issues, front to back. The conference provides a forum to present and exchange ideas and to promote the research, development, and application of design techniques & methods, design processes, and EDA design methodologies and tools that address issues which impact the quality of the realization of designs into physical integrated circuits. ISQED emphasizes a holistic approach toward design quality and intends to highlight and accelerate cooperation among the IC Design, EDA, and Semiconductor Process Technology and Manufacturing communities. Further information about ISQED09 can be found at: http://www.isqed.org.

ISQED 2009 is held with technical sponsorship from the IEEE Electron Devices Society, and IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS), and in cooperation with the IEEE Reliability Society (RS) and ACM/SigDA (Special Interest Group Design Automation). The conference is produced and sponsored by the International Society for Quality Electronic Design.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
