Radiation pattern? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hey all,

I'm new to antennas, so I'm still learning. I've been messing around with a program called 4nec2 and MultiNEC. I'm trying to understand the readout for the pattern magnitude.

I have this picture:

I noticed on the dBi scale that the level goes up to 7.53 dBi. Does this mean that the signal strength at that location is more than what was inputted? If so, is this due to constructive interference?
