Amplifiers - Tube
Standard Glass Vacuum, Klystron, TWT, Solid-State Replacement
Manufacturers & Services

A lot of people are under the assumption that tube-based amplifiers are no longer being produced. Of course, some do not even know what a tube is. Even so, they are probably only familiar with the classic glass enclosure mounted on a plastic, Phenolic, or ceramic base with pins sticking out of the bottom. Many modern tube amplifiers have metal enclosures as well as glass; microwave oven tubes are an example. Audiophiles swear by their tube amplifiers, claiming that no solid state amplifier can replicate the tonal quality of tubes (which many attribute to the physical movements of the grids when stressed by the musical signals).
