What:

AWR Corporation announces the on demand availability of a webinar from the live recording of Dr. Steve Cripps’ keynote talk given at European Microwave Week 2013 (EuMW 2013). Titled "Recent Developments in Continuous Mode RF Power Amplifier Design," this talk takes the well-publicized continuous-mode power amplifier (PA) theory into new territory.

Dr. Cripps introduces a novel and powerful new design methodology based on "clipping contours," which allows engineers to design broader bandwidth PA matching networks in such a manner as to avoid voltage clipping. The advantage of this new method is very linear, optimally-efficient designs. The EuMW 2013 MicroApps sponsors were AWR, Rohde & Schwarz, and Horizon House/EDI CON with this special online version sponsored by AWR.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
