API Technologies Announces New Switched Multiplexer with Integrated Low Noise Amplifier
|

-- Designed for radar, EW and ELINT applications Orlando, FL - January 07, 2014 – API
Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) a leading provider of high performance RF/microwave, power, and security solutions
for critical and high-reliability applications, is now offering a
switched multiplexer that includes
an integrated Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). Designed for radar, Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electronics
Intelligence (ELINT) applications, this new multiplexer provides excellent broadband performance across the 2 GHz
to 18 GHz range using suspended substrate stripline (SSS) technology.
Specifically
suited for agile receiver front ends and directional finding systems, API’s switched multiplexer provides a 20 dB
gain with a 5 dB noise figure and fast switching at 100 nanoseconds as well as low DC power consumption of only
5.25 watts. Sub-octave filter bands used in the multiplexer provide excellent harmonic rejection and high isolation.
Rebecca McCarron,
product line manager, RF/Microwave & Microelectronics (RF2M-US), API Technologies said, “By incorporating SSS
technology into high performance and versatile integration mediums, API facilitates the combination of filters and
active functions on a single substrate. SSS technology is ideal for broadband diplexers and multiplexers because of
its superior design flexibility and low loss. Our extensive heritage in SSS design enables API’s experienced design
team to provide faster prototyping and fewer design iterations than the competition.”
API’s switched multiplexer
can be ordered as a standard part or be customized for customer-specific applications.
API Technologies has
a long and successful heritage in the development and manufacturing of RF & Microwave components and subsystems
for military, space, and commercial applications. Product offerings include: filters, filter subsystems, small signal
amplifiers, high power amplifiers, switched filter banks, system-level-ready Active Antenna Array Units (AAAU) used
in AESA Radars, filtered GPS LNAs, a wide variety of passive and active components, complex frequency sources and
hybrid microelectronics.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
