API 30-90MHz Digitally Tuned Bandpass Filter Released Today
WINDBER, PA —MARCH 15, 2011 — API Defense, a provider of highly engineered systems, sub-systems and secure
communications to the global defense and aerospace industries, today announced the release of the API™ Tunable
Filter. The API Tunable Filter is a 30-90MHz bandpass filter that delivers highly precise tuning capabilities. The
product’s rugged but lightweight design makes it ideally suited for use in military radios and mobile
applications.
“We are pleased to deliver another product that further enhances warfighers’ communication
capabilities,” said Jim Fisher, Director of Engineering for API Defense. “Used either out in the field or in a
test environment, the API Tunable Filter offers the speed and accuracy necessary to meet mission requirements.”
 The
API Tunable Filter is the newest addition to the company’s growing portfolio of RF and Microwave products. The
lightweight unit (less than 60 grams) is designed for easy installation and can be used as a drop-in replacement
for similar products. The ruggedized unit meets the following standards: MIL-STD-810E, MIL-STD-883, and
MIL-STD-1686.
Specifically, the API Tunable Filter:
- Tuning range: 30-90MHz
- Temperature range: -40 degrees to 85 degrees C (operating) / -57 degrees to 85 degrees C (storage)
- Meets MIL-STD-810E, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-1686 standards
- Weighs less than 60 grams
- Offers Fast tuning speed (<10us)
