RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while typing up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...

KU-band Duplexer for Satcom Applications

The AE14615-15250DB5343 is a duplexer designed for satellite communications terminals operating between 14.4 and 15.35 GHz. Band one is 14.4 to 14.83 GHz (430 MHz bandwidth), band two is 15.15 to 15.35 GHz (200 MHz bandwidth). Insertion loss is less than 2.5 dB, return loss is greater than 14 dB, and rejection in both bands is -60 dB. The duplexer will handle 20 W CW, operates from -40 to +70° C, and uses SMA female connectors.

5735 to 5775, 5795 to 5835 MHz Cavity Duplexer


The AD5755-5810D379 cavity duplexer has a first passband of 5735 to 5775 MHz and second passband of 5795 to 5835 MHz. Insertion loss is less than 2 dB, isolation is 65 dB, and power handling is 2 W. The duplexer employs Type-N female connectors and measures 5.7 x 5.1 x 1.1 in.

2400 MHz Triplexer for WiFi Applications


The AD2420-2458-2492TR285 is a cavity triplexer designed for operation in the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi bands. Band one is 2404 to 2436 MHz, band two is 2443 to 2474 MHz, and band three is 2485 to 2500 MHz. Insertion loss is 2 dB, return loss is greater than 15 dB, and power handling is 1 W. The triplexer employs SMA female connectors and measures 128.90 x 93.50 x 31.00 mm.

2 to 18 GHz 2-Way Power Divider


The AM10000PD1340 two-way power divider covers a broad bandwidth between 2 and 18 GHz with insertion loss of 1 dB, VSWR of 1.5:1, amplitude balance of 0.3 dB, phase balance of 5 deg., isolation greater than 17 dB, and power handling of 30 W CW. The power divider employs SMA female connectors.
