RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while typing up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...

Richardson RFPD Press Release - June 22, 2011

Richardson RFPD Selected by GORE as Global Distributor
for New Rugged PHASEFLEX® Test Cable Assemblies

-  Specially Designed 18 GHz RF Cables Used in High Throughput Test Applications

Richardson RFPD

June 22, 2011 – LaFox, Illinois: Richardson RFPD, Inc. announces today it has been selected by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. as the global distributor for its new 18 GHz GORE® PHASEFLEX® Microwave/RF Test Assemblies. Specifically engineered for high throughput production test applications, these rugged assemblies deliver consistently precise and repeatable measurements and reduce operational costs by minimizing requirements commonly found in production testing for the wireless infrastructure market such as test system troubleshooting, time-consuming recalibration and retesting. Richardson RFPD will manage stocking levels of these assemblies to ensure quick and reliable delivery schedules.

According to Reneé Burba, Gore's product manager for the microwave/RF test market, Richardson's global presence and customer service were key factors in the distributor selection process. “As a long-standing partner of Gore, Richardson RFPD has a proven ability to address customer requirements quickly and effectively. Richardson RFPD understands the microwave/RF testing requirements of our customers and shares our commitment to meet them with high-quality, durable products.”

Gore has been consistently recognized as a leader in providing high-performance microwave/RF test products. “We have carried Gore's microwave/RF test products for over 15 years, and we value the extensive engineering and testing that they put into each of their products,” explained Kevin Connor, vice president, Energy, Power & Interconnect at Richardson RFPD. “Adding this new 18 GHz cable assembly to our line of GORE® PHASEFLEX® Microwave/RF Test Assemblies allows us to better serve the growing demand for rugged assemblies in RF production test applications.” The complete line of GORE® PHASEFLEX® Microwave/RF Test Assemblies provides excellent phase and amplitude stability with flexure and temperature. The rugged, lightweight design delivers reliable performance in laboratory, production, and field test environments. Additionally, the crush, torque, and kink-resistant construction results in longer service life and reduced testing system downtime.
