Hearst Electronics Group Press Release - 2/9/2009

EEM.com Relaunches Its Website with New Content, Features and Functionality
UNIONDALE, N.Y., February 9, 2009 – Hearst Electronics Group, the largest publisher of product
information to the electronics industry, announces the re-launch of EEM.com (www.EEM.com).
To date, the site has been widely used to search authorized distributor inventory, electronic components and their
manufacturers. The new design will give engineers those same features plus easier navigation, related content, and
better search functionality.
The most significant changes to EEM.com are its added content and enhanced search capabilities. The website now
includes related content from other Hearst Electronic Group websites, including Electronic Products articles and
reference designs, eeTechBrief webcasts, Application Reference Literature, and parametric part information from
ICMaster.com. Brand new to EEM.com is the search functionality enhanced to include six distinct search options,
including a comprehensive search that will return results from products, manufacturers, distributors, inventory,
and product information pages. Each of these search options has its own landing page, and searches can be
conducted from any results page on the site using the top navigation bar.
The site also contains data on
manufacturers and their products, authorized distributor inventory, product information pages on thousands of
parts, links to articles, webcasts, reference designs, and updated manufacturer catalogs. All of which could only
be accomplished with a web-based publication.
“We are very excited about the new features and functions on
EEM.com and how they will help those researching and buying components get through this process even more
efficiently,” states William Barron, Vice President and Publishing Director for The Hearst Electronics Group.
The re-launch of EEM.com, in development for about a year, was undertaken with the express purpose of replacing
EEM print, which will not be published this year.
Visit the new EEM.com (www.EEM.com) and you will quickly see why
it is the industry’s most comprehensive online resource of electronics components and equipment for engineers,
technical managers, and purchasing professionals.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
