EdXact Selects ICON Design Automation as Sales Partner in India
Grenoble, France – June 2, 2009.
Backend verification specialist edXact SA today announced that it has signed an exclusive multi-year
distribution agreement with ICON Design Automation in India. Under this agreement, ICON will distribute all of
edXact’s tools, including the netlist reduction tools Jivaro A (for analog and RF designs) and Jivaro D (for
digital and mixed-signal circuits), as well as Comanche its parasitics rule checking analyzer.
ICON Design Automation Pvt Ltd (www.icon-dapl.com) over the
last decade has established itself as a Premier EDA Solutions provider to multinational and Indian design
companies through its association with leading-edge EDA tool suppliers in the domains of VLSI, Embedded, and
RF/Microwave. ICON, headquartered in Bangalore, has offices in Hyderabad and Delhi.
« EdXact’s JivaroTM technology has gained reputation to dramatically boost performances of current simulation
and analysis tools in advanced nanometer design flows and we are delighted to be associated as their Indian
partner.” said R. Varalakshmi, CEO of ICON.
“Our Asian customer base continues to growth and we won’t miss
the promising opportunities of India”. said Mathias Silvant, president and CEO of edXact. ”India is a large
country with several
centers of gravity with respect to the semiconductor industry. ICON is active in all these places with both
sales channel and strong team of field application engineers. By partnering with ICON we provide real-time
support to our Indian semiconductors customers.
The Jivaro model order based technology is the only
independent industrial netlist reduction technology available, which applies on post-layout extracted netlists.
Jivaro remodels and reduces the
parasitic overhead in a way that the simulation tool in place is able to simulate larger netlists, or reduce
the memory footprint and the execution time.
Jivaro technology is used in production in more than 20 different sites worldwide and is integrated into
other companies's tools such as those of Helic and Agilent.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
