LBA Group Press Release 10-26-2008

LBA Technology, Inc. Appointed Exclusive Western Hemisphere Distributor for Schomandl and Kathrein RF Test Equipment

German RF equipment manufacturer Kathrein and subsidiary Schomandl will exclusively distribute its radio frequency test equipment, including devices for digital TV, radio, wireless, CATV, satellite and laboratory use, through RF systems experts LBA Technology, a unit of the LBA Group, Inc., throughout the western hemisphere.

Greenville, NC October 21, 2008 – The Kathrein Group and instrumentation subsidiary Schomandl has appointed LBA Technology as exclusive distributor of its test and instrumentation products in the western hemisphere countries. The German manufacturing group has provided award winning, state of the art, precision radio frequency test equipment worldwide for over 60 years. This equipment has won wide acceptance in the broadcast, wireless communications, satellite, medical, and test laboratory markets for its highly cost effective performance.

Among the products being introduced by LBA is the SafeOne™ Personal RF Monitor. This economical, wearable personal alarm warns tower climbers, technicians, and other personnel working around “hot” antennas if they encounter unsafe radio frequency energy fields. Such units are mandated by the FCC, OSHA and other agencies for workers at RF exposure risk.

Also expected to have immediate traction in the market is the MSK-200 Digital Transport Stream Monitor. This monitor is designed to analyze digital and analogue RF systems such as for high definition television. It is a high performance, portable unit that combines a range of terrestrial TV, CATV, and satellite test equipment functions into one unit. It can test RF signals through antennas, cable transport, and over-air transmission. It handles all conventional formats such as DVB-T, DVB-S, DVB-C, AM, FM and ATSC, plus most other international digital and analog formats.

For test laboratory, medical MRI, and other research applications, LBA will offer an array of ultra-stable frequency synthesizers, RF signal generators, and frequency standards. These units are known for their extreme spectral purity, broad frequency capabilities, user friendly operation, and versatile remote control and system interface features.

Information on all instruments currently available through LBA can be found at www.lbagroup.com/test-equipment. Sales are being supported in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
