July 1, 2021 - Vista, California - Axiom Test Equipment, an electronic test equipment rentals and
sales company headquartered in North County San Diego, currently has the need for
an Electronic Test Equipment Calibration Technician. We are looking for an experienced,
dedicated and ethical electronic calibration technician to help support our team.

General Description:
To calibrate both customer-owned and Axiom-owned electronic test equipment by
performing one or more of the following: calibration, installation of options, troubleshooting,
refurbishing, maintenance of electronic test and measurement equipment. Assist salespeople,
customers and management on technical matters and equipment operation, setup and
recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate electronic test equipment.
Functional test of equipment (purchases, rental returns and RMA returns) for
proper operation and evidence of customer abuse.
Follow calibration procedures and methods.
Ensures proper procedures are used to test and calibrate equipment according
to manufacturer specifications, accepted methods, or GIDEP
Adhere to Axiom QMS and ensure compliance to 17025 accreditation.
Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
Ability to perform uncertainty evaluation and measurements not required but
is a plus.
Diligently update asset database to reflect most current operational status
of inventory and customer repair items.
Ensure Axiom’s sale and rental assets are in "Ready" status and are able to
ship to customers immediately .
Maintain a high level of quality in all work performed with 0% defect being
the goal.
Assist customers in applications and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions and
customer misuse.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experienced and proficient in calibration
Experienced and proficient in repair to the component level, of General Purpose
and RF/Microwave test equipment is not required but is a plus.
Metrology background required (TMDE/PMEL certified or Associates degree in Electrical
Technologies or equivalent).
Experience and proficiency using and testing network analyzers, spectrum analyzers,
microwave sweepers/signal generators, phase noise analyzers. Must also be experienced
and comfortable working with high-power test equipment such as AC Sources, AC/DC
Loads and DC Power Supplies, Temperature/Humidity chambers, General Purpose, EMC,
Amplifiers, and Electrical Test Equipment.
Strong background with computers, Windows OS, and Networking, as it pertains
to modern test equipment.
Excellent English writing, reading and oral communication skills.
Experience / background in Quality Management and Systems (ISO: 9001 ISO: 17025)
a plus
Military calibration training and/or civilian cal lab experience.
Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions
Knowledge and experienced with schematics, wiring diagrams and other technical
documents a plus.
Familiarity with current and older test equipment from Keysight (Agilent / HP),
Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Fluke, Chroma, California Instruments, Yokogawa and
Tektronix a plus.
Common sense research abilities.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Self-motivator and good team-player.
Strong attention to details.

Technical knowledge and ability to calibrate (repair experience is a plus)

Number of inventory items in repair status kept low.
