Work in close communication and cooperation with design, modeling,
and process engineering teams; to develop, implement and support
best-in-industry Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and device
technologies, used in RFIC and MMIC product design.
Setup and execute various RF, microwave and mm-wave device
measurements, including DC, S-parameter, pulsed I-V, pulsed
S-parameter, noise parameter, load-pull, and Nonlinear Vector
Network Analyzer (NVNA) measurements, primarily on-wafer
measurements with some mounted fixture measurements, for device
characterization, model parameter extraction, and model
verification.
Design, set up, and verify test systems and computer control
programs for various measurements; execute the measurements, and /
or guide engineering technicians to execute the measurements.
Process, verify and analyze the measured data; produce clear
concise presentations and reports.
Heavy initial focus on load-pull measurement development, setup
and execution.
Applications include, but are not limited to, cellular
telephone, WLAN/WiFi, and point-to-point communications.
Devices for test include, but are not limited to, discrete
transistors of various technologies (GaAs HBT, GaAs pHEMT, SOI,
SiGe, GaN), power amplifiers, RF switches, low noise amplifiers
and related components.
Qualifications:
BSEE with 5 years experience in RF and microwave measurements
required.
Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Proven expertise with load-pull measurement systems and
measurements required.
Proficient with various RF and microwave measurements: DC,
small-signal, large-signal, noise, pulsed.
Proficient with RF and microwave test equipment: linear and
nonlinear vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, automated
tuners, signal generators, power meters, other related test
equipment, components and systems.
Proficient with Windows, Linux, C/C++ programming, data
manipulation, and general problem solving.
Familiarity with RF & microwave circuit design, device
modeling, and semiconductor device physics.
Familiarity with EDA programs such as Agilent ADS.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while typing up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
