Automotive and aviation are huge sectors of the electronics marketplace. It has been written often that even in the severe worldwide economic downturn of the the 2009 era, that personal location products (GPS) will likely be the one bright spot amongst the dark days for commercial electronics. Update: It is now 2012 and we're in no better shape than in 2009. GPS in automobiles is a yawn nowadays, with it being pretty much ubiquitous either as OEM equipment, dashboard add-ons, or smart phone features.
