RF Modeling & Simulation Engineer  (Predictive Device Modeling Verilog-D)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of custom IC models for CMOS transistors and passives for a variety of IC technologies.

  • Development of high performance Design kits (PDKs) by supplying documentation on above models and integrating the IC models with Cadence or other IC design tool environments.

  • Works on implementing IC blocks based on block level system specs.

  • Work with team of IC design and layout designers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BSEE or MSEE preferred with Masters a minimum of 3 years modeling CMOS and transistors. PhD a plus.

  • Detailed understanding of DC and RF transistor modeling for CMOS models and BJTs. Knowledge of PSP models and BSIM4 models is a plus.

  • Experienced in extracting CMOS and BJT model parameters and converting to Spectre model format.

  • Experienced in performing high frequency RF probe performance measurements such as NFmin, S-parameters, IIP3 etc…

  • In-depth knowledge of IC design tools and simulators, e.g., Cadence, ADS, RF Spectre, harmonic balance and time domain simulators.

  • In-depth knowledge of IC layout design and techniques, tools and verification methodologies.

  • Capable in analogue, mixed signal and RF circuit design.

  • Some analytical and mathematical skills, e.g., Z- and S-domain analysis, complex small signal circuit analysis, filter analysis etc.

  • Programming in Perl, Cadence SKILL language, etc…

  • Detailed understanding of process technology steps for fine line geometry CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
