SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Laird Technologies, Lincoln, NE · Mechanical Engineer II · 2006-Present

  • Led multiple projects from concept through production and delivery to customer resulting in annual revenue of $4.0M and 1.5M production volume for each project. Projects include mobile external retractable and stubby antennas in GSM, PCS, and CDMA frequency bands. Internal two shot moulded antennas for mobile and handheld devices in GPS, Bluetooth, Wimax, and CDMA frequency bands. Successfully implemented projects by conducting design reviews, product specification, material studies, finite element analysis (FEA), FMEA, tolerance analysis, etc. Conducted engineering tests, building prototypes, key supplier selection and interface. Interfaced with electrical and RF engineers on developing new antennas. Developed engineering and production fixtures for above-mentioned antennas resulting in cost reduction on fixtures by 10%

Sinclair Technologies, Aurora, Ontario, Canada · Mechanical Design Engineer · 2003-2006

  • Contributed to development projects for base station antennas, RF filters, and rack mounted systems used by private wireless network and public safety. Antennas include Yagi, Wimax directional and omni-directional panel antennas for indoor or outdoor applications. Rack mounted TRS (trunked radio system) includes different frequency channels, filters and controllers mounted on 19” EIA compliant rack. Filters include receiver-multicoupler; can filters, duplexers, and transmitter-combiners. Conducted antenna structural stress analysis and verified the design for harsh environment such as ice storm and heavy winds. Resolved thermal issues in 5 channel transmitter-combiner using thermal analysis (Cosmos FEA package). Successful deliverables with revenue of 2.7M and 25% cost reduction.
