OBJECTIVE:

Summer Internship in the Semiconductor Industry with emphasis on Circuit Design.

EDUCATION:

• MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of California- Santa Barbara.
Current GPA=3.5(out of 4).
Expected Graduation Date- Dec 2008
• B. E in EE – June 2007. Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Chennai, India. Secured a Distinction and was ranked 7th in my graduating class.

GRAD COURSE PROJECTS

Current/Future Projects

• RFIC Design Project

• VCO and Frequency Synthesizer Project

Past Projects

• Narrowband Low Noise Amplifier (LNA)
Designed and constructed a LNA with a minimum noise figure of 1.5dB (at 800MHz) and Gain of 11dB at the minimum noise figure frequency. The P-1dB measured was -25dBm.

• Wideband Feedback Amplifier
Design and construction of a feedback amplifier with a bandwidth of over 1.2GHz with a lower cut-off frequency of 10MHz. The IIP3 was 6dBm and the P-1dB was -10dbm.

• Design of a 64 bit Low Voltage swing adder using 90nm Technology
Designed using the differential low voltage swing technology using sense amplifiers to connect to the external world. The circuit simulation and the source code was written in HSPICE and the waveforms were observed using COSMOSCOPE.

• Design of an Optical fiber Amplifier and a 2:1 Demultiplexer
Designed an optical receiver consisting of a Transimpedance amplifier, limiting chain amplifier and a 2:1demultiplexer. Modeled the whole setup and did the simulation and the mask layout using ADS(Advanced design system).

• Fabrication of a NMOS Transistor
This involved the extensive step by step process involved in the fabrication of an actual transistor. In the course of this project I gained familiarity with the different processes like Photolithography, Oxidation, Diffusion and the careful handling of the different masks.

• Fabrication of a Solar Cell
Postulated a method for the fabrication of a Solar cell, using the equipments that were available inside the teaching Clean Room of my University.

GRAD SCHOOL COURSE WORK

• High Speed Bipolar Mixed Signal Communication and IC Design
• VLSI Principles
• Solid State Semiconductor Device Processing
• RF Circuit design I
• Device Physics I
• Advanced VLSI Design and Architecture
• RF Circuit Design II
• Optic Fiber Communication

UNDERGRAD SCHOOL PROJECTS - PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM

Designed a Predictive Maintenance System to evaluate the condition of an equipment by performing periodic or continuous monitoring with the goal of failure prevention for DELPHI-TVS, India.
• Measurement of the alternator bearing vibration, coolant temperature and pressure using appropriate transducers and sensors
• Developed a microcontroller based monitoring system to predict failure and suggest corrective action.

ACADEMIC ACHIVEMENTS

• Secured 96 Percentile in the Verbal Section of the XAT (XLRI Admission Test) entrance exam in India.
• Participated in the AryaBhatta Mathematics Olympiad and was among the top 10% of students all over India in the year 2002.

• Have constructed a working model of A DIGITAL TACHOMETER using LED’s and Decade Counters and presented it for PULSE’05, a national level technical symposium held in Chennai, India.

• Constructed a miniature HYDRO ELECTRIC POWER STATION for PULSE ’05, a national level technical symposium.
