Objective: To obtain a RF Design Engineer position
Work Experience: Research Assistant: The University of Mississippi (August 2004 - December 2007) . Low Noise Amplifier (January 2006 - November 2007): A balanced low noise amplifier (LNA) was designed and fabricated using compact wideband quadrature hybrids. Resistive loading at the gate was used to ensure transistor stability. This design achieves stable gain, wide bandwidth and low VSWR when compared to the conventional balanced amplifiers, at design frequency of 2GHz. Parametric studies of varying DC bias and tuning the matching circuit have been simulated and measured experimentally . Power Amplifier (August 2006 - December 2006): A gain block was designed by constructing input and output matching circuits from a combination of series microstrip line and open circuit stub. RF chokes were used to feed DC feed and isolated DC from RF. A gain of 14 dB was achieved at frequency of 2 GHz. Simulation results were in good agreement with the fabricated design. Reconfigurable Antennas (June 2006 - October 2007): A reconfigurable printed V-Shaped antenna, which consists of six arms, was designed to reconfigure the radiation pattern at centre frequency of 2.45 GHz. By Switching between two active arms, the main beam can be directed to predefined directions. This design was simulated, built and radiation patterns were measured experimentally . RF Filters (January 2007- May 2007): Low pass, high pass and band pass filters were initially designed by lumped elements and converting them into their equivalent microstrip networks. The microstrip filters were fabricated and measured . Quadrature Hybrids (August 2004 - December 2005): A compact wideband quadrature hybrid was analyzed, designed and fabricated. Three hybrid sections were cascaded to obtain wide bandwidth. Size reduction was achieved by converting microstrip line into smaller equivalent and two open circuit stubs. This hybrid achieves 50% bandwidth and occupies 50% lesser circuit size when compared to the conventional quadrature hybrid at design frequency of 2 GHz
RF/Microwave Skills: . Microwave circuit measurements using Network Analyzer . Fabrication of printed microwave circuits and antennas using milling machine . RF amplifier I-V curve measurements using curve tracer . Far field and near field Antenna measurements using Anechoic Chamber . Experience in using signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters and power supplies . Hands on experience in soldering surface mount transistors and lumped components
Computing Skills: Electromagnetic Simulators : HFSS, ADS, WIPL-D Programming Languages : MATLAB Operating Systems : Windows 98/2000/NT/XP Packages : MS Office
