Reliability Engineer Job Description
Performs complicated and difficult engineering work of major complexity under minimum supervision requiring a high degree of technical competence.
Exercises technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting evaluations of electronic apparatus, components or circuitry for use in electronic/electromechanical equipment and devices. Plan projects involving exploration of product and/or process problems, definition and selection of new parts, concepts and approaches to design or development of new or improved products and/or processes. Conducts technical investigations involving the application of engineering principles and theories. Prepares source and specification control drawings for purchased items as well as internal design specifications for interdepartmental applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. * Responsible for parts, materials and process selection and mission
assurance evaluation for space programs.
2. * Review parts materials and processes qualification.
3. * Supervise destructive physical analysis (DPA) and perform stress
and corrosion evaluation, radiation hardness assurance (RHA), failure modes and effect analysis.
4. * Establish production screening and or testing and perform Root
Cause Failure Analysis.
5. * Perform design life analysis and verification.
6. Perform other duties as necessary and as assigned.
* Essential Job Functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BSEE or equivalent.
Experience: Should have detailed knowledge of space borne reliability
processes associated with Semiconductors, Hybrid Assemblies, Power RF Amplifiers and Powers Supplies. Minimum of five years related experience.
