The details of the job responsibilities are:
With the depth of knowledge on NMS platform, software languages and data networking, resolve the customer issues that gets escalated from the support team.
Simulate the customer issue in the lab/outdoor with different hardware and software tool and provide the solution to the customer.
Test/evaluate the new software release along with beta test team with special focus of customer scenarios.
Communicate effectively across the various teams within company, Channel Partners and customers making sure that that product issue are escalated and resolved quickly.
Generating the various technical bulletins or system troubleshooting documents working along with Product Management.
Impart the product knowledge to level 2 support team, training group and pre-sales teams.
This position will require travel within Canada, the USA and International.
Must Have Skills:
Familiar with TMF814 Standard, JAVA, CORBA and Mysql
Understand and able to support OSS and NMS applications Troubleshoot issues relate to CORBA API implementation
Working knowledge with Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Windows Server
Working knowledge with Unix Bash, Windows CMD and XML
Working knowledge with SNMP and Mysql
IP Networking understanding and knowledge on routing and switching is mandatory
CCNA, CCNP certification would be a an asset
Minimum of 3 full years of experience with java, C++, and CORBA
Development, testing and maintenance experience in OSS and NMS software would be an asset
Familiar with WiMAX standard would be an asset
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze different sets of data
Comfort with ambiguity, ability to simplify, decisive
Excellent oral and written communications
Take charge initiative, capacity for action, self motivated, results oriented, excellent listening skill
The successful candidate will be closely involved in the development of high volume and low cost test strategies and implementing the resulting platforms in a contract manufacturing (CM) environment. This person will also actively participate in the maintenance and support of the testing and repair processes of Broadband Fixed Wireless equipment within such an environment. The Test Engineer will perform assigned duties associated with ensuring that the product line is consistently being be tested for performance conformity and that non-conformity issues of any element within this validation process are isolated and addressed.
Job Requirements:
This role includes the following – other duties may be assigned as the need arises.
Work very closely with the design teams to determine the test requirements.
Be responsible for DFT and as such will draw up test plans to be incorporated into the product design that will facilitate high volume testing.
Develop and transfer the resulting test platform to the production line.
Design and fabricate (where necessary) test equipment (jigs) that are needed for testing the product also providing support documentation such as diagrams and schematics.
Perform system and board level testing of Digital/RF products.
Diagnose and repair failed Digital/RF products. Identify the root cause of these failures and bring them to the attention of the appropriate departments.
Maintain test setups.
Participate in the training of production technicians on the testing procedure, troubleshooting and repairing of the production failures.
Identify and initiate the purchasing of testing tools that are needed in the test process on the manufacturing floor.
Work closely with external and internal parties who are involved with the manufacturing of the product to ensure the highest possible quality of the finished goods.
Must Have Skills:
Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering combined with a sound understanding in the fundamentals of digital and RF circuitry.
8 to 10 years experience in the high volume, high tech, mix signal electronic product manufacturing environment. Start up company experience is an asset.
Very knowledgeable of statistical methods governing continuous improvement through the testing process.
Must be highly process oriented and proficient in data collection and analysis.
Minimum five (5) years experience (designing), troubleshooting and repairing digital and/or analog/RF systems to the component level.
Well rounded in reading, understanding and interpreting schematics and technical papers.
Very experienced with the use of measuring instruments such as high-end oscilloscopes, Spectrum and Network analyzers.
Keenly aware of measuring techniques and limitations of measuring instruments.
Knowledgeable in programming languages such as C++, Visual Basic, or Java, Labview.
Strong aptitude to independent research.
Able to travel up to 25 % of the time to support CM sites outside the GTA.
Excellent negotiating, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
