RF Wireless Systems Architect Engineers The successful candidate is looking for a challenge and the opportunity to drive innovation with a market leader in the RF industry. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with customers (handset manufacturers) to define new products 2 to 4 years out. They will have 10+ years experience in the handset environment and RF Design. They will create new architectures with the customer and interface with the design engineering team to define future products. The Primary Responsibilities of these RF systems architect engineers is to lead the systems design, architecture definition, and integration of new transmitter (PA/Front End/PMU) architectures implemented in RF integrated circuits and modules. These Engineers will be responsible for analyzing and driving: System architecture design System noise and gain analysis and simulation System filter line-up analysis and simulation System frequency planning Systems calibration algorithms
Necessary Skills: BSEE required with MSEE preferred and at least 5 years of cellular systems development experience. Strong design background and experience in Analog and RF circuits. Experience WCDMA, CDMA, GSM/GPRS, and /or EDGE is a must. Understanding of power amplifier, front end, and PMU design issues.
RF Application Engineers for Cellular Devices The successful candidate is looking for a challenge and the opportunity to drive innovation with a market leader in the RF industry and will create radio reference designs, working with customers and partners to integrate RF components into handset designs. This senior level engineer will mentor junior level engineers and technicians and will work with Product Marketing to develop the technical documentation package. The Primary Responsibilities of these RF Application Engineer will be to work as a member of a team to bring RF components to the market. This individual will: Interface with sales and marketing as the customer’s technical contact Design and analyze RF subsystems using tools such as Agilent ADS and MS Excel Create radio reference designs Work with customers and partners to integrate RF components into handset designs Work with PA IC designers to insure system compatibility
Necessary Skills: BSEE or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years work experience as an RF/Microwave Engineer. An MS degree is preferred. Must have 2 of the required years of experience must be in cellular handset board-level RF design/product development. Additional required experience includes RF board-level development, ideally for GSM/GPRS, GSM/EDGE, and/or WCDMA handset design.
Detailed Skill Requirements: Strong overall RF experience: familiar with transmission theory, matching theory, filtering, PA (Power Amplifier) design, PA biasing, PA architectures, transceiver architectures, antennas, RF test methods, RF automation System level analysis and design experience for cellular phones: spec and standard translation into system level design, component performance budgeting based on system level requirement Front end integration of cellular phones related to power amplifiers (PA’s) Power control loop integration within GSM phones, and RF power detection methods Transceiver integration within cellular phones Familiarity or working experience with 3GPP, ETSI specifications Working experience with different modulation techniques, overall familiarity with digital communication techniques Simulation tools: ADS, Momentum, Mathcad (Matlab), Libra, Eagleware, SPICE, etc. RF Modeling or device characterization experience Knowledge of Smith Chart and impedance matching Customer interface: working experience in resolving customer technical issues, good presentation skills, friendly personality Good technical writing skills: responsible for technical articles, application notes, product notes, technical presentations
