RF Design Engineer, CTS Electronic Components SBU SUMMARY Under the direction of the Design Engineering Manager, the design engineer evaluates customer specifications and determines best fit of existing product which can be modified or designs new filter utilizing simulation tools to meet customer specifications. Design engineer will coordinate the activities of technicians to optimize selected product design through artwork and material improvements and modifications. Interfaces with process engineering and manufacturing to communicate new product requirements. Supports to engineers and technicians in training, problem solving, product characterization, design and development process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities. Requires the ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to mentor and coach peers and subordinates in ceramic filter design and development as well as RF technologies to drive continuous improvement. In all activities, some travel may be required. RF Ceramic Filter Design: Interfaces with management, customer, sales team, design technicians and launch engineering to select, modify and optimize products to meet customer requirements. Using simulation software, design engineer will develop and/or optimize product to meet customer specifications. Design engineer will apply simulation results to product and optimize for manufacturability. Filter Optimization Support: Design engineer will be a resource for the design, optimization, launch and manufacturing team to troubleshoot product issues and further optimize products for manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions. Ceramic Filter Applications: Research opportunities in which ceramic filters may have potential to be disruptive technology or new technology for future application. IP Development: Address shortfalls in RF ceramic filters through development of creative and innovative approaches to ceramic filter design. REQUIREMENTS BSEE with 5 years experience in RF component design. MSEE preferred. In depth RF/Microwave knowledge and experience with RF modeling tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, WIPL, HFSS, process mapping, DOEs, FMEAs is necessary. Working knowledge of equipment such as network, spectrum analyzers is desirable as well as knowledge of wireless technologies including mobile communications, Wi-Fi, broadband wireless, WiMax, etc... Should be able to work with PCs and Unix workstations. Good work habits and communication skills are required. Able to work independently as well as in team environment is necessary. EOE M/F/H/V |
