Required Skills

Serve as technical team member in a cross-functional team environment for design and development of analog circuitry for broadband telecommunications equipment in the CATV industry, with emphasis on analog optics and RF design.

 

Required Experience

  • Perform analog or digital circuit design primarily for the development and support of RF amplifiers and optical nodes, transmitters, and receivers.
  • Conduct and engage in complex electrical engineering projects and direct vendor manufacturing, internal laboratory testing, independent safety certification and support manufacturing for product lines.
  • Perform feasibility studies on new technology and product concepts.
  • Generate required product development documentation including, but not limited to: technical specifications, detailed design documents, and bills of materials.
  • Experience in RF/Analog/AM optics circuit design from 5 MHz - 1GHz.
  • Working knowledge of component level implementation of fiber optic and digital components for telecommunications products.
  • Experience developing broadband RF amplifiers, optical transmitters, receivers, and nodes for HFC applications.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of component level implementation of RF devices, both passive and active. This is inclusive of broadband (5-1002 MHz) RF hybrid amplifiers, discrete capacitors, inductors, resistors, filters, chokes, PIN diodes, and Schottky barrier diodes.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of linear and non-linear intermodulation distortions as they relate to broadband amplifier design.
  • Experience utilizing, testing, specifying, and approving broadband gain blocks such as hybrid devices, and MMIC's.
  • Experience with board design and layout, including component and connector selection.
  • Experience utilizing design simulation software such as Eagleware, PSpice, and EEsof.
  • BSEE, 5 years experience.
