Laws Of Motion

Isaac Newton's three basic laws of motion are presented here along with the equations that derive from them.

Rotational motion with constant acceleration in the q-plane.

  1. Conservation of Momentum :
    An object in motions tends to remain in motion. An object at rest tends to remain at rest. An external force is required to change the momentum.

  2. Relationship of Force, Mass and Acceleration : F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors, and the force vector operates in the same direction as the acceleration.

  3. Action / Reaction : For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
