OF BROADBAND COMPONENT TECHNOLOGY WITH NEW WiMAX DUAL SPDT SWITCH New High Linearity, Low-Cost Switch Ideally Suited for 802.11a, 802.11b/g, PC Card and Access Point Applications that Require High Isolation and Low Insertion Loss LOWELL, Mass. – April 9, 2008 – Tyco Electronics today introduced a new low-cost, RoHS compliant, dual SPDT switch die for broadband applications that require high linearity, low insertion loss and high isolation. The M/A-COM MASW-008206-000DIE is intended for 802.11a, 802.11b/g, PC Card and access point applications and is optimized for 2.4 GHz as well as 5.8 GHz operations. The MASW-008206-000DIE, with its low leakage current, maximizes system linearity performance while reducing DC power consumption. “This new offering is a sterling example of Tyco Electronics’ commitment to the WiMAX market that demonstrates exactly how M/A-COM components will continue to help drive the WiMAX technology standard forward,” said Mike Arrigo, product manager, Tyco Electronics. “This new switch is designed to exceed the needs of our WiMAX customers while providing competitive prices for cost-sensitive and space-constrained applications. As a company, we are proud to provide this level of functionality at an attractive price level.” The M/A-COM MASW-008206-000DIE switch is ideally suited for 802.11b/g applications with a 3.0V bias and was designed to have a low typical insertion loss of 0.7 dB at 2.4 GHz while achieving an isolation of 28 dB and P1dB of 28 dBm. Typical insertion loss at 5.8 GHz is 0.9dB with an isolation of 25 dB and P1dB of 28 dBm. The MASW-008206-000DIE is fabricated on a low-cost 0.5-micron gate-length GaAs process and features full passivity for increased reliability.
