NexTek Launches High Performance 12.5 GHz SurgeGuard™ Lightning Arrestors

Westford, MA, February 10, 2006 - - NexTek, Inc., a leading designer of best-in-class lightning protection and EMC / power conditioning products and services, announces a new family of lightning arrestors designed to operate at frequencies of up to 12.5 GHz. The SurgeGuard™ PTC-SAx-SAF-20 is a gas discharge tube-type lightning arrestor with SMA connectors. This PTC series is designed for use in 0-12.5 GHz microwave applications, and provides industry-leading performance characterized by very low VSWR and insertion loss. Compact geometries (≤36.2mm L x 16.6mm D) assure maximum protection in the minimum space.

Able to withstand harsh environmental conditions, the PTC-SAx-SAF-20 series is both rugged and waterproof. Using nickel-over-brass construction, a gold center conductor and gold contacts, the PTC-SAx-SAF-20 meets the most stringent military, commercial and environmental standards, including IP67. Additional features include: normal and reverse polarity SMA connectors, 10x multiple strike capability @ 5kA, 20 kA (8 x 20μs) surge capability, bi-directional protection and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +90°C.
