These high performance clock oscillators are available in CMOS, CML, HCSL, LVPECL or LVDS versions, with the unique ability to switch between four output frequencies.

Saelig Launches New Crystal Oscillators with Four Switchable Frequencies and Low Jitter - RF CafeFebruary 27, 2018 - Fairport, NY, USA: Saelig Company, Inc., (Saelig) (www.saelig.com) has introduced the Euroquartz QuikXO HC_JF series of switchable crystal oscillators that can provide four different preselected frequencies. These high performance clock oscillators are available in CMOS, CML, HCSL, LVPECL or LVDS versions, with the unique ability to switch between four different output frequencies. They have an integrated phase jitter performance of 150 fs maximum, making them particularly suitable for high frequency applications.

The low cost QuikXO HC_JF series crystal oscillators are available with a choice of supply voltages (1.8, 2.5 or 3.3 V) across the most of the range (LVPECL with 2.5 and 3.3 V only) with any four pre-chosen output frequencies within the range, selected via two logic input lines. This switching feature is most useful in frequency bus distribution applications on multi-processor boards where several frequencies are required for different processors, but it is also useful for system power reduction capabilities. Instead of designing-in multiple sequenced clocks, choosing the QuikXO HC_JF series means that the four chosen frequencies are all synchronized from a single crystal oscillator and in a smaller board space.

Frequency selection timing is specified at 2.5 ms maximum, and frequency stability specifications of ±25, ±50 and ±100 ppm over both commercial (-10 to +70 °C) and industrial (-40 to +85 °C) temperature ranges are available as standard. Maximum aging is specified as ±3ppm in the first year, with output rise times of 0.35 ns maximum. Current consumption of the oscillators is from 62 to 99 mA (typical) depending on the output logic version. Additional features include a start-up time of 5ms typical (10ms maximum) and output enable/disable control. RoHS compliant, these switchable crystal oscillators are housed in industry-standard 8-pad, 7 x 5 mm surface mount packages.

The QuikXO HC_JF crystal oscillators are made by European frequency product specialist Euroquartz, an independent manufacturer and supplier of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency-related products to the worldwide electronics industry. The company is AS9100 registered and designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of frequency control components for a wide range of customers for military and aerospace, communications, general electronics, computing, control systems and petrochemical applications. These high reliability oscillators are available now from Euroquartz' USA distributor Saelig Company. Inc. RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
