AWR Releases NI AWR Design Environment V11 – First Major Software Release in 2014

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – April 29, 2014 – AWR Corporation, the innovation leader in high-frequency EDA software, releases NI AWR Design Environment™ V11, its first major software release in 2014, which includes new features, enhancements, and user interface changes to Microwave Office®/Analog Office® circuit design software, Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) system design software, AXIEM® 3D planar electromagnetic (EM) software, and Analyst™ 3D finite element method (FEM) EM software.

V11 highlights include:

 

NI AWR Design Environment/Microwave Office/Analog Office
  • AWR Releases NI AWR Design Environment V11 – First Major Software Release in 2014 - RF CafeSupport for 64-bit mode on 64-bit operating systems
  • New gamma probe model
  • Layout improvements, specifically SPP (shape pre-processing)
  • APLAC harmonic balance (HB) technology as default HB simulator 
  • Graphic display enhancements:
    • Stepped colors on swept traces
    • Multi-selection of traces for edit
    • Markers now show parameter sweep value
Visual System Simulator
  • Datasets that allow the results from simulation runs to be saved and stored in an AWR project for quick comparison of prior results
  • New models:
    • Phased array block
    • WLAN 802.11ac library
    • Radar library (enhancements)
    • RF block temperature dependency
    • PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller
AXIEM 3D Planar EM Technology
  • Automatic ports technology simplifies the extraction flow
  • AFS band limiting
  • Simulation enhancements:
    • Higher accuracy loss model for thin conductors
    • Surface roughness
    • Frequency dependent dielectrics
Analyst 3D FEM EM Technology
  • 3D EM editor enhanced for creation of arbitrary 3D structures
    • Ready-made parts library included coils, connectors, antennas and more
    • Components can be created and parameterized, or imported in SAT or IGES formats
    • Components can be saved as custom library of parts that feature 3D PCell technology
  • Antenna analysis enhancement
  • Visualization improvements
