RFMW , Ltd. announces design and sales support for TriQuint Semiconductor’s new high linearity, low-noise, gain block. The TQP3M9038 spans the frequency range of 50 to 4000MHz offering >21dBm P1dB. The TQP3M9038 provides 15dB of gain with OIP3 >39dB yet has a noise figure of only 2dB, making it suitable for both receive and transmit circuits. This unconditionally stable amplifier draws 85mA from a single 5V supply and requires only an external RF choke and blocking/bypass caps for operation. Active bias ensures stable operation over bias and temperature variations. Packaged in a 3x3mm QFN, the TQP3M9038 complements the TQP3M9028 housed in a SOT-89 package. Applications include second and third stage receiver LNAs and general purpose gain blocks for 3G/4G infrastructure, as well as IF gain blocks for PtP radio and VSAT amplifiers.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
