Hittite's New Triple Balanced Mixer Serves Millimeterwave TransceiversChelmsford, MA 01/9/2012 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, announces the release of a new Triple Balanced GaAs MESFET MMIC Mixer die which is ideal for microwave & millimeterwave radios, military sensors, and test & measurement equipment applications from 26 to 32 GHz.

The HMC1015 is a Triple Balanced GaAs MESFET MMIC Mixer die which accepts IF frequencies from 16 to 22 GHz, and RF frequencies from 26 to 32 GHz. This highly integrated mixer employs a passive architecture which requires no DC bias and no external components or matching circuitry. The HMC1015 operates with LO drive levels as low as +9 dBm, and is ideally suited as the frequency converter core in both upconversion and downconversion applications. This unique mixer die exhibits consistent conversion gain and compression characteristics across its operating bandwidth, while on-chip balun structures provide excellent LO to RF, LO to IF and 2LO to IF isolations of greater than 30 dB.

The HMC1015 is offered in bare die form and features RF I/Os which are internally matched to 50 Ohms, allowing for simplified integration into higher level modules and subsystems. The HMC1015 complements Hittite’s broad line of single, double and subharmonic mixers with frequency coverage up to 90 GHz. Samples are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.

Hittite Microwave Corporation is an innovative designer and manufacturer of high performance integrated circuits, or ICs, modules, subsystems and instrumentation for technically demanding digital, RF, microwave and millimeterwave applications covering DC to 110 GHz. The Company's standard and custom products apply analog, digital and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies, which are used in a wide variety of wireless / wired communication and sensor applications for Automotive, Broadband, Cellular Infrastructure, Fiber Optics& Networking, Microwave & Millimeterwave Communications, Military, Test & Measurement, and Space markets. RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
