Multiplied Phase Locked OscillatorORLANDO, FL  — May 31, 2012 — API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) (“API” or the “Company”), a leading provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced today a new line of multiplied phase locked oscillators from the Spectrum Microwave family of products.

“The new multiplied phase locked oscillators provide both ultra low phase noise performance as well as the ability to modify standard parameters to meet customers’ unique requirements,” said Tracy Shaffer, Vice President, Spectrum Microwave Product Group of API Technologies. Phase noise performance is -175 dBc/Hz (at 100 kHz offset) and can use its internal or external 10 MHz reference.

“With an output range of 80 to 1600 MHz, and the flexibility of the passive multiplier design, these phase locked oscillators can be configured for most military and grounds based applications,” added Shaffer. Desired output frequency is increased by using a series of x2 multipliers. The oscillator also delivers excellent spurious performance of -60 dBc when powered by a +12 volt supply. Additional features include: DC voltage regulation, automatic reference sensing, low current consumption and multiple RF outputs.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
