January 13, 2011 -- Amplifier Technology starts the New Year with a brand new product – an exceptionally high powered amplifier, operating at 100 watts in the 0.5 – 2.5 GHz frequency range, where there are not yet many high powered products available.

The 8767 is a broadband GaN amplifier with good overall efficiency – typically giving a saturated output power of 50dBm minimum, from an input power of 0 dBm maximum.

The new amplifier measures 261 x 131 x 31 mm and is supplied with a 50 Ω SMA jack.

This very high powered amplifier is suitable for jamming and convoy protection, where it will enable protection across a wide area, or it can be used for Electro Magnetic Compatibility testing.

It will be integrated into systems in government or military applications or it could be used in industrial, academic and research environments.

Amplifier Technology 8767 GaN Wideband PAAmplifier Technology Ltd offers the 8767 as an off-the-shelf product, however the company is known for GaN amplifier design, where it is one of the UK’s leading players, leading the field in developing efficient broadband amplifiers at high power.

Amplifier Technology will supply the 8767 for Own Equipment Manufacture, where it is most likely to be utilised in EW and laboratory testing applications. OEMs and distributors should call +44 (0) 8700 869 941 for more information.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
