Hittite Introduces Three New Power Amplifiers with Output Power to 4 Watts- Fully Matched MMIC Amplifiers for Microwave Radio cover 12 to 31.5 GHz Chelmsford, MA, 2/4/2011 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, announces the release of two new chip and one new SMT GaAs pHEMT MMIC Power Amplifiers. These amplifiers are ideal for military EW, test & measurement equipment, and telecom applications as high as 31.5 GHz. The HMC949 is a four stage GaAs pHEMT MMIC 2 Watt Power Amplifier chip, which operates between 12 and 16 GHz, delivers 31 dB of gain, and +35.5 dBm of saturated output power at 26% PAE. The HMC949 provides +42 dBm of output IP3, has a compact size of 2.82 x 1.50 mm, and consumes only 1200 mA from a +7V supply. The HMC949 RF I/Os do not require any external matching for ease of integration into Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs). The HMC950 is a four stage GaAs pHEMT MMIC 4 Watt Power Amplifier chip, which operates between 12 and 16 GHz, delivers 28 dB of gain, and +37 dBm of saturated output power at 23% PAE. The HMC950 provides +44.5 dBm of output IP3, has a compact size of 3.24 x 4.5 mm, and consumes 2400 mA from a +7V supply. The HMC950 RF I/Os do not require any external matching for ease of integration into MCMs.  The HMC943LP5E is a GaAs pHEMT MMIC 1.5 Watt Power Amplifier in a SMT package, which operates between 24 and 31.5 GHz, delivers 21 dB of gain, and +34 dBm of saturated output power at 24% PAE. It provides +41 dBm of output IP3 and consumes only 1200 mA from a +5.5V power supply. The HMC943LP5E RF I/Os internally matched to 50 Ohms and the 5x5 mm plastic package eliminates the need for wirebonding and is compatible with surface mount manufacturing techniques. Die samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
