M/A-COM Technology Solutions Introduces 250 to 3000 MHz Highly Linear RF Driver Amplifier
- Broadband amplifier exhibits high linearity in plastic surface mount package

Lowell,
MA, December 27, 2010 – M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (M/A-COM Tech) introduced today the
MAAM-009563, a two-stage HBT driver amplifier for cellular and WiMAX infrastructure applications. This driver
amplifier covers a broad frequency range of 250 to 3000 MHz with excellent linearity of 47 dBm output IP3 and
typical gain of 19.5 dB. The broad operation is achieved using external matching components, where component
values are selected to center the 200 MHz instantaneous bandwidth within the overall frequency range. The
lead-free SOIC-8EP surface mount plastic package is RoHS compliant and compatible with solder reflow temperatures
up to 260oC. The ESD susceptibility achieves a class 2 ESD rating
“The
MAAM-009563 HBT driver amplifier is yet another example of M/A-COM Tech developing industry-leading amplifiers to
meet customer and market requirements,” said Jack Redus, Product Manager. “This highly efficient amplifier
delivers high linearity and gain, and lower power consumption to cover a broad frequency range for infrastructure
applications. In addition to the MAAM-009563 amplifier, M/A-COM Tech offers a family of RF driver amplifiers
covering similar frequency ranges at different power levels to meet a variety of requirements.”
Engineering samples, sample boards and production devices are available today from stock. Technical support is
also available from M/A-COM Tech’s applications engineers at 978.656.2539. Final datasheets and additional product
information can be obtained from the M/A-COM Tech website at

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
