TEGAM Acquires Product Lines from PPM Instruments
GENEVA, Ohio - June 28, 2010 - TEGAM, Inc. is
pleased to announce that they have reached a formal agreement with PPM Instruments which grants TEGAM an exclusive
license to manufacture, market, and service their instrumentation products starting 1 August, 2010. After this
date, TEGAM will become the sole manufacturer of PPM's resistance measuring equipment, laboratory nano-voltmeters,
signal sources, and signal conditioners.
TEGAM will move the manufacturing and support of the acquired products to their Geneva, Ohio facility, and offer
the products through existing sales offices and distributors worldwide. According to TEGAM's National Sales
Director, Kevin Kaufman, "PPM's instruments are a great fit for TEGAM, because of our existing expertise in a
variety of micro-ohmmeters and sensitive calibration laboratory instruments."
PPM has established a strong
reputation for instruments that are exceptionally durable in the field. "We are convinced that TEGAM will continue
this tradition of strength and durability as well as extend the scope of the product lines. They have the sales
channels combined with applications know-how to engage customers in electrical utility safety testing, materials
test, automotive electrical, aircraft testing and calibration laboratories." explained PPM Managing Director,
Cliff Nazelli.
Transition PPM will continue to accept orders and ship products until 31 July, 2010.
Any orders that cannot be filled before 31 July, 2010 by PPM will be filled and invoiced by TEGAM. PPM and TEGAM
will cooperate to ensure a seamless transition of supply for those customers who have open contracts with PPM that
extend beyond 31 July, 2010.
How This Impacts Customers Customers with warranties issued by PPM will receive warranty
service from TEGAM for the remainder of their warranty. Customers with open orders on 31 July, 2010 will be
contacted to arrange to receive their shipment and invoice from TEGAM. According to Chas Gilmore of PPM, "TEGAM
has been licensed to provide after-warranty service on all PPM products, and we are confident that they will
provide top notch service to our customers." Where feasible, TEGAM will provide repair and calibration service on
products that PPM has previously discontinued.
