Z-Communications, Inc. Press Release - June 29, 2009

Z-Comm Introduces the SFS2200C-LF, S-Band Fixed Frequency Synthesizer

Z-Communications, Inc.Z-Comm SFS2200C-LF phase noiseSan Diego, CA, July 2009 -- Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant Fixed Frequency Synthesizer model SFS2200C-LF in S-band. The SFS2200C-LF is a single frequency synthesizer that operates at 2200 MHz. This Synthesizer features a typical phase noise of -109 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz offset and a typical sideband spurs of -70 dBc.

Z-Comm SFS2200C-LF packageThe SFS2200C-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6 dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5 Vdc while drawing 30 mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3 Vdc while drawing 11 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40º to 85º C. This Fixed Frequency Synthesizer features typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -10 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s industry standard PLL-V12C package measuring 0.60 in. x 0.60 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The SFS2200C-LF is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

SFS2200C-LF is well suited for test equipment and fixed wireless applications that require low phase noise performance. Additional specifications for this product can be found on-line at http://www.zcomm.com/webstore/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SFS2200C-LF

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
