RFHIC Press Release - 4/29/2009

RFHIC Introduces Low Cost SMD 2-Way-Divider for LTE & WiMAX Market

10 new products for each LTE frequency and by package type

RFHIC's SMD type 2-way-divider/splitter/combiners RFHICSuwon, Korea (April 29, 2009) – RFHIC Corporation, manufacturer of active RF & MW components and hybrids for wireless telecommunication markets, has released ten new low cost SMD type 2-way-divider/splitter/combiner for LTE and WiMAX frequencies. It is now proposed to have 2.6GHz for Europe, 1800~2000MHz for China, and 700MHz for US LTE bands. PD09C2(700~960MHz), PD18C2(1.7~1.9GHz), PD20C2(1.9~2.2GHz), PD23C2(2.2~2.4GHz), and PD26C2(2.5~2.7GHz) has been released in an industry standard SOIC-8 type plastic package and is lead-free/RoHS compliant. All these devices will be available with SOT-23-6L package, which has same foot print with SOT-6 and SOT-26. Cost advantage is increasingly becoming an important strategic advantage and this low cost divider can be the correct solution for many infrastructure telecommunication equipment manufacturers.

This PD series power divider products uses Silicon Substrate RF Integrated Passive Device technology to have very thick Copper (Cu) metal layer with Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) insulation layers to improve specification on target frequencies. Low insertion loss and superior isolation with reliability proven FAB technology process gives you a nice solution, but adding very competitive pricing will offer you one of the highest-value solutions at the LTE, WiMAX and WiBRO frequencies. Both PD35C2 and PD27C2 have 0.3dB insertion loss, 20dB isolation, 1.3 VSWR, and a handling power of 2 only. ESD protection design has been added for additional protection and this will lower ESD failures caused by assembly work. Operating maximum input power is 2W, with highly reliable design structure.

“RFHIC is a key supplier to LTE, WiMAX and WiBRO infrastructure markets in US, Europe, Canada and Korea. RFHIC has been supplying WiBRO infrastructure components and modules to the System manufacturers in Korea including Korea Telecom(KT) since 2006, and we are happy to provide additional passive solutions added to the existing active solutions.” said Dr. Samuel Cho, Chief Technology Officer, RFHIC.

PD09C2(700~960MHz), PD18C2(1.7~1.9GHz), PD20C2(1.9~2.2GHz), PD23C2(2.2~2.4GHz), and PD26C2(2.5~2.7GHz) devices are in SOIC-8 package, and PD09T2(700~960MHz), PD18T2(1.7~1.9GHz), PD20T2(1.9~2.2GHz), PD23T2(2.2~2.4GHz), and PD26T2(2.5~2.7GHz) devices are in SOT-23-6L packages, which has same foot print with SOT-6 and SOT-26. All devices mentioned are available in stock. These RoHS compliant device samples are available through international representative networks or by directly contacting RFHIC. RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
