American Standard Circuits (ASC) Press Release - June 2, 2009

American Standard Circuits, Inc. Receives First Technology Patent

ASC receives first patent for metal-backed Printed Circuit Boards

Click to visit American Standard Circuits (ASC)West Chicago, IL June 2, 2009: American Standard Circuits, Inc. (ASC) reported it has received its first technology patent from the United States Patent & Trademark Office. U.S. Patent 7,527,873 covers the Electrasil Film which is used to bond high or low frequency printed circuit boards (PCB) to a metal heat sink with an electrically (and thermally) conductive silicone based film. ASC is willing to license this technology.

“ASC has a successful track record in developing technology solutions for its key customers. This invention continues to highlight ASC’s commitment to advancing technology. Electrasil provides customers with cost and performance advantages. A number of our customers are already taking advantage of this offering,” said Anaya Vardya, CEO of American Standard Circuits, Inc.

“This invention will be useful in printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies that operate at various frequencies. These include high frequency applications such as those used in wireless communication systems (e.g., up to 40 GHz) and/or Radiofrequency (RF) systems, as well systems that operate at much lower frequency. It provides a void-free bond and is especially beneficial for PTFE PCB’s that have very high CTE’s. A key product benefiting from this innovation includes Power Amplifiers used in wireless infrastructure applications,” stated Bo Patel, Executive Vice President, ASC.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
