AZIMUTH SYSTEMS ACE™ 400WB MIMO CHANNEL EMULATOR NAMED
AS FINALIST IN 2008 MITX TECHNOLOGY AWARDS

Fifth Annual MITX What’s Next Forum & Technology Awards Recognize Outstanding Technology Advancements in New England Region

ACTON, MA – May 20, 2008 – Azimuth Systems, a leading provider of wireless broadband test equipment and channel emulators for WiMAX, 4G and Wi-Fi, today announced that its ACE™ 400WB MIMO Channel Emulator has been named as a finalist in the Mobile category of the 5th Annual Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) Technology Awards. The MITX What’s Next Forum & Technology Awards recognize innovative technologies developed in the New England area.

The ACE 400WB has experienced significant success in the WiMAX and Wi-Fi arenas, and is the foundation of Azimuth’s continued growth as the company expands into the emerging 4G and LTE markets. As the industry’s only MIMO-optimized channel emulator, the ACE 400WB is used by leading silicon providers, equipment vendors and service providers throughout the wireless equipment supply chain. The ACE 400WB’s advanced signal processing technology performs real-time emulation of over-the-air conditions that introduce channel fading as close to the real world as possible, and features the industry’s highest RF fidelity for error-free testing. By enabling MIMO performance testing in a lab, the ACE 400WB replaces time-consuming over-the-air drive testing that lacks repeatability, saving hundreds of hours of costly and unrepeatable field experimentation.

“We are proud to be selected as a finalist for this year’s MITX Technology Award,” said Graham Celine, senior director of marketing at Azimuth Systems. “This honor further validates our position as the leading provider of channel emulators to the broadband wireless industry and demonstrates the success we have achieved by delivering innovative and high quality products.”

“In its fifth year, the MITX Technology Awards have attracted some of the most distinguished technological innovations that the New England region has to offer,” said Kiki Mills, executive director of MITX. “It is this tremendous interest that enables our organization to accomplish its mission of uniting the brightest minds in the digital marketing, media and technology community and honoring their outstanding achievement.”

Azimuth Systems will be recognized along with the other finalists at an awards ceremony taking place at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Tuesday, June 3, 2008. This year’s keynote speaker and special honoree is Dr. Amar Bose, Chairman & Founder of Bose Corporation. The MITX What’s Next Forum & Technology Awards are sponsored by Backbone Media, DLA Piper, Invest Northern Ireland, LEWIS PR, Oracle and Technology Review.
