POSDATA To Employ Azimuth Systems’ ACE™ 400WB Channel Emulator for
Testing of its FLYVO Mobile WiMax Product Line
Leading Korean Telecommunications Technology Provider Partners with
Wireless Channel Emulation Expert
ACTON, MA – October
14, 2008 – Azimuth Systems, Inc., a leading provider of wireless
broadband test equipment and channel emulators for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, LTE
and 2G/3G cellular technologies, today announced that POSDATA has selected
the ACE™ 400WB WiMAX channel emulator for testing of its FLYVO Mobile
WiMAX brand. By accurately emulating multi-antenna multipath characteristics
with channel correlation, the ACE 400WB determines the effect of real-world
RF interactions to enable accurate testing of MIMO broadband wireless
communications.
Based on its OFDMA and TDD source technologies,
POSDATA’s FLYVO Mobile WiMAX brand consists of three core products:
a radio access station, access control station and element management
system. By employing the ACE 400WB, POSDATA aims to dramatically streamline
the testing process of the entire FLYVO product line in order to advance
its goal of achieving free and unrestricted communications.
“As
Korea was one of the first nations to pursue the commercialization of
Mobile WiMAX, it’s fitting that POSDATA has risen to become a major
player in the space,” said Jaehyeong Kim, director of POSDATA. “Azimuth’s
ACE 400WB provides us with the enhanced capabilities required to effectively
test our FLYVO brand, helping us to deliver mobile WiMAX products that
are enabling ubiquitous high-speed voice, video and data services without
the limitations of time and space.”
The ACE 400WB is a fully-featured
channel emulator that performs real-time emulation of over-the-air conditions
with the industry’s highest RF fidelity for error free testing, ensuring
that introduced channel fading is as close to the real world as possible. Azimuth’s
sophisticated family of channel emulators, including the world-class
ACE 400WB, feature the advanced channel modeling capabilities required
for MIMO broadband wireless communications testing.
“Highly-accurate
channel emulation testing is essential in characterizing the effect
of multi-channel RF interactions on the conformance, performance and
interoperability of MIMO-based Mobile WiMAX systems,” said George Reed,
vice president of marketing and product management at Azimuth Systems.
“Azimuth has leveraged its considerable experience in wireless test
to create the industry’s only MIMO-optimized channel emulator, providing
customers like POSDATA who are on the cutting-edge of technology with
a means to efficiently and reliably perform real-world testing of next-generation
mobile WiMAX products in a convenient, controlled laboratory setting.”

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
