Opens test suite to design engineers and project developers

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 1, 2005) Sypris Test & Measurement, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions, Inc., today announced it will feature its microwave testing capabilities at the International Microwave Symposium, June 14-16 at Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, Calif., sponsored by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

"We're excited that Sypris is one of the few companies offering microwave testing on a third-party basis," said Mike McEntee, Corporate Strategic Alliances, Sypris Test & Measurement. "Our abilities in this arena allow smaller companies an affordable method of testing ideas, designs and equipment without the costly expense associated with construction of a microwave test suite."

Sypris has also opened its doors to participate in project development, allowing qualified outside engineers and project developers to test components and equipment, and perform subsequent testing, throughout the design process.

"Many companies and engineers have great ideas," said McEntee. "Few can justify capitalizing a full test suite for a single idea. By opening our doors to design engineers and project developers, we're providing a test venue for good ideas that might otherwise slip through the cracks. Our engineers have the depth of experience needed to assist in the design process to bring an idea to production."

Microwave testing is radio frequency (RF) testing of frequencies above 1 gigahertz (GHz.). Sypris currently offers a robust suite of RF and microwave testing, including component qualification, life test, characterization and burn- in/environmental tests. Current RF and microwave test parameters include P1dB, Pin, Pout, Psat, G1dB, GL, IMP3, MSG, MAG, Insertion Loss, Return Loss VSWR, small signal gain S-parameters, Ig, IgrL, Idss, gm, and Idrf.
