Big Brother's Big Brother

Big Brother's Big Brother, that's what MIT graduate student Ryan McKinley wants his website, Government Information Awareness (www.opengov.us), to be known as. He created it to put the government legislators and regulators that have a penchant for watching our every move under the same type of microscope. The website was so popular right after its launch that it had to be shut down temporarily while the code was rewritten to handle the large load. His database is already impressively large, and incorporates those of C-SPAN, multiple government websites and telephone books. The site's ultimate success will be determined by the level of "volunteer" efforts to assist in expanding data resources, writing code and advertising its existence.
