Wanted: Engineering Technician or RF Test Engineer

December 13, 2019 - Modelithics, Inc., the leading independent provider of simulation models for Radio Frequency and Microwave (RF/MW) devices, seeks an Engineering Technician or RF Test Engineer (RF Test Specialist) who will utilize, build and/or adapt unique test equipment for complex tests using SOP's(standard operating procedures) as well as independent judgment, after suitable training on each task.

Duties include applying working knowledge of applicable test requirements and performing tests using general laboratory equipment and routine care of designated test equipment and work area, as well as operate a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software. The RF test specialist will be responsible for examining test samples, reading measuring instruments and reviewing test data with supervisor; reading and interpreting schematics, Modelithics Mission Statement - RF Cafewiring diagrams, and operational instructions, operating designated instruments that may include electrical test equipment, temperature measuring devices, microwave probes, impedance analyzers, noise analyzers, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, hand tools, oscilloscopes and special laboratory equipment as directed.

The person will also be responsible for assembly of electronic circuits and related test fixturing, in addition to customized test setups. RF and microwave training, corporate experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer or in Engineering Technology are desired qualifications of the successful applicant.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
